As a specialized foundation, CliniClowns provides essential emotional relief to children in hospitals and people with dementia through professional improvisation and play. Being entirely dependent on donations and sponsorships, their primary friction point was the need for a professional, standalone webshop that could support their mission without draining vital financial resources. They required a system that was robust enough to handle high-volume seasonal demand but lean enough to ensure that the maximum amount of revenue could be directed back to their core healthcare work.
The Integration
To honor their non-profit status, we executed a high-efficiency "co-creation" project using the Shopify Dawn theme. By utilizing custom liquid coding instead of expensive third-party apps or paid themes, we eliminated recurring monthly overheads. We collaborated closely with the CliniClowns team, training them to manage product data internally to keep project costs strictly within budget. On the backend, we implemented advanced shipping profiles to automatically route orders to the correct fulfillment suppliers. We further optimized their operations using Shopify Flow, automating repetitive administrative tasks and ensuring the store runs as a "low-touch" engine for the foundation.
